Data Collected

Cytomic collects various data from our customers in order to allow you to access and use our products safely, for us to provide customer support, and to abide by tax regulations.  We will never expose or sell your data. 

Data collected includes:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • User name (as chosen by you)
  • Address
  • Country of residence
  • IP address
  • Dates and times of purchase, downloads, and authorisations
  • Cytomic Software Version number(s)

This data is collected via our webpage via webform or when you enter information as part of your order, and it is stored securely.  We have SSL certification for our webpage and two-factor authentication for access to our server.

All financial information (e.g., bank details, card numbers, etc) is handled and stored by PayPal, and is never visible or stored by Cytomic or its employees.


If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Cytomic will never share, sell or expose your data to anyone outside of Cytomic.

For users that register on our website, we store the personal information provided in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Cytomic can also see and edit this information but no changes will be made without the individual specifically request.

Data Retention and Your Rights

Your data will be retained as long is as required for taxation or legal or customer service requirements.

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Personal data will not be sent out of Australia.
